For radio technicians with only beginning networking experience, this workshop offers an in-depth introduction to IP technology, terms, and equipment. Review ethernet/IP as the new trend for LMR backbones, how to develop IP addresses, various network elements, and tools to assist in troubleshooting. In addition, learn the benefits as well as the drawbacks and impediments to implementing an IP backbone for your radio system. When finished, the technician will have a better understanding of network fundamentals and have tools to assist in troubleshooting.
REQUIREMENTS: This workshop requires attendees to bring a laptop for which they have administrator privileges. This class has a hands-on component.
