Town Hall Meeting 2: DHS and the Nation’s Governors Partner to Strengthen Interoperability Nationwide

In 2016, the DHS Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) and the National Governors Association (NGA) launched the Policy Academy on Enhancing Emergency Communications Interoperability. Its mission is to address the constantly-evolving challenges of interoperability, so that when the next emergency strikes, we are fully prepared. The Academy is helping states design specific strategies to strengthen interoperability plans, including assessing and formalizing governance structures and standard operating procedures. This panel will discuss findings from the five workshops conducted through the NGA Academy in 2016, and recommendations scheduled to be released in 2017.
