Town Hall Meeting 3: Connect with DHS: Help Design the Next Generation First Responder

  • Tuesday, March 28, 2017: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Room: S229
  • Session Number:  TM3

DHS S&T seeks to equip the first responder of the future with cutting edge tools and technologies that make them better protected, connected and fully aware through its Next Generation First Responder (NGFR) program. To accomplish this mission, the NGFR program works with innovators from industry, academia, and federal, state and local governments to design and develop a fully interoperable suite of technologies for responders.

As technologies advance, many of the innovations that responders need to close their critical capability gaps are already commercially available to the general public. By designing a plug-and-play system built on open standards, the NGFR is inviting industry to adapt these technologies – from IoT sensors to networking solutions – for inclusion into the NGFR Smart Hub, an on-body architecture for the next generation first responder. Join DHS program managers and key engineers for an intimate round-table discussion on how industry can partner with DHS to bring their technology to the table. We’re looking for your questions, your input and – most importantly – your innovation as we work together to design the next generation first responder.
