Town Hall Meeting 4: NG911 Now: A Town Hall Discussion

  • Tuesday, 03/28/2017: 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM
  • Room: S229
  • Session Number:  TM4

In early 2016, a group of public and commercial sector leaders formed a Coalition to accelerate the adoption of Next Generation 911 (NG911) services across America, with the goal of nationwide implementation by the end of the year 2020. The NG911 NOW Coalition – a group of thought leaders in the 911 community – has united to bring significant attention to achieving this goal. The Coalition is led by these emergency communications organizations, which share a common mission to promote more effective emergency calling and response services:

•    Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies (iCERT)
•    National Association of State 911 Administrators (NASNA)
•    National Emergency Number Association (NENA)

The Coalition is also supported by government partners, leading associations, and members of academia.

Attendees will engage with Coalition leaders regarding the nature and extent of the critical issues surrounding NG911 implementation, and will learn about recent advancements toward the cause of nationwide adoption of NG911 by the year 2020.
