Profile

Robert Sisley retired as a Sergeant from the Miami-Dade Police Department after 27 years of service. Upon his retirement, he supervised the Tactical Communications Unit, which was responsible for all voice communications equipment and communications planning for medium and large preplanned events and spontaneous incidents. Sergeant Sisley has organized and supervised numerous multi-agency operations and served as Communications Unit Leader (COML) for Super Bowl XLI in 2007, the 2010 Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XLIV in 2010.

During his career, Sergeant Sisley completed numerous advanced law enforcement and over 80 Incident Command System (ICS) courses. Sergeant Sisley also completed the first All-Hazard Communications Unit Leader (COML) Train-the-Trainer, Communications Unit Technician (COMT) Train-the Trainer, Incident Communications Center Manager (INCM) and Auxiliary Communications (AUXCOMM) courses. In addition to being a nationally recognized COML/COMT Instructor, he is also a recognized COML/COMT in the states of Florida and Arizona.

Sergeant Sisley has served on several local and national committees, including the FEMA Communications Target Capability Technical working group, the National Emergency Communications Plan (NECP) working group, and as a peer reviewer for the Public Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) Grant. He has also authored several articles on public safety communications planning and interoperability.

Robert Sisley is currently the COML/COMT for the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona and is an active COML/COMT instructor.
