Steve Graves was named Chief Information Officer for the City of Richardson in November 1998 after serving as Assistant Information Services Manager since 1987. He installed the first personal computer (PC) in the City of Richardson in 1987 and supervised the installation of the City’s first PC network. He installed the City’s Wide Area Network (WAN) in 1990, which currently totals more than 900 PCs, Laptops and Servers. In 1994, Graves helped develop the City’s Web site, the first of its kind in the state of Texas. He is responsible for all of the City’s voice, video and data technology. Prior to joining the Richardson staff, Graves spent 10 years working in Information Services as a programmer/analyst with various manufacturing companies.
Graves attended Colorado University in Boulder, Colo., and in 1992 received the Outstanding Civil Servant Award presented by the Richardson Jaycees. He is a graduate of Leadership Richardson Class XVII.
