Charles Brotherton is the Wireless Communication Services Manager at the City of Austin, Texas. In this role, he manages the Greater Austin Travis Regional Radio System (GATRRS), a Project 25 trunked, simulcast land mobile radio system. Today, GATRRS serves 21 Texas counties, several state agencies, and hundreds of local public safety and public service agencies and departments. The total subscriber count is more than 20,000.
Mr. Brotherton has extensive experience in the management of public safety wireless communication systems. Previously he was the Emergency and Wireless Communications Manager at Travis County, Texas, and, before that, he was the Wireless Systems Manager for Maricopa County, Arizona. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications from the University of Idaho and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from Arizona State University.
