Jennifer has 18 years’ experience as General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, and Data Privacy Subject Matter Expert. Having partnered with hundreds of management teams across the U.S., Jennifer brings valuable experience that enables her to identify and address the myriad of regulatory, contractual and management challenges that arise in Technology, Health Care and Insurance.
Most recently, Jennifer concentrated her practice on building a ground-up Health Care Analytics organization within LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Jennifer monitors CMS and DEA regs, ensures that the organization is HIPAA and FTC compliant, and manages outside counsel/litigation. In one year, Jennifer streamlined 75% of the now Health Care IT organization and assisted in growing revenue by 11%.
In 2014, Jennifer was one the original architects of the Florida Information Exchange (Florida HIE). Prior to 2013, Jennifer was a Washington, D.C. Partner and a U.S. Practice Leader for Lockton's Global Technology & Privacy Practice. Jennifer counseled on and drafted best practices, PIA's, PTA's, and compliance policies for start ups to Fortune 500 companies. She assisted with Model Contracts, BCR's, EU Safe Harbor (now obsolete) for trans-border data flow and int'l compliance. Having designed countless insurance programs, between 2004 and 2012, Jennifer recovered over $150MM from insurers in cyber losses relating to mobile apps, e-advertising, data breaches and satcoms.
Jennifer has appeared before the 112th Congress, Dep't of Commerce, the SEC, FTC, FCC and ICANN as a nationally-recognized authority in data privacy, directors' and officers' liability, risk management and insurance. She has been recognized by the Washington Business Journal as a nominee in "Women to Watch," "40 under 40."
