ProfileTerry Nehring has been with the City of Tampa since 1983. He is presently Electronics Superintendent, managing the Electronics Division. The Electronics Division consists of 7 Electronics Technicians, Electronics Supervisor, Electronics Superintendent and 1 Office Support. The Electronics Division maintains all of the two-way radio communication systems for all City departments. In 1986, Mr. Nehring was promoted to Electronics Supervisor, then to Superintendent in 1996. He has overseen numerous projects throughout his career including the development of the TPD/TFR communications center, RFP development & selection of the Police department upgrade to 800 MHz trunking system, etc. Additionally, he has served as the COML for two Super Bowls, Republican National Convention, College National Championship, and other major events. Mr. Nehring serves as the Florida RDSTF Region 4 representative on the FloridaNet technical committee and was the chairperson for the Florida committee that developed the Florida P25 numbering plan. Mr. Nehring has 2 children, 4 grandchildren.
