Rick Polehonka is currently a Vice President in the 9-1-1 division at Federal Engineering, Inc. FE is a leading provider of consulting services for public safety radio, PSAP, NG9-1-1, transportation, utility agencies and end-users. Mr. Polehonka has 42 years of experience in the public safety market, including 25 years as a police officer in Southern California.
Prior to this assignment, he was target-recruited as the Senior Program Manager of Technology for the Los Angeles Regional Interoperable Communications System (LA-RICS) within the Jacobs Program Management Company team, in April, 2012. In this senior management role he managed the technology and outreach communications staff for the LMR and LTE projects for the LA-RICS Authority for public safety voice/data radio communications initiatives.
His previous experience included serving as the Executive Coordinator for the California Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee (CalSIEC) Southern Planning Area, and positions with Harris Communications, as a Strategic Capture Manager and leading Northrup Grumman’s public safety IT support staff for a major contract.
Mr. Polehonka was a career Police Officer for the City of Chino where he served for 25 years. He has served as a homicide investigator, crime scene investigator, community resource officer, trainer and instructor.
Mr. Polehonka holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and has completed studies under the Juris Doctorate Law Program at Western State University College of Law.
