John has over twenty-five years of experience in the communications industry working for Sprint, Nextel and Questar.
In his most recent project, 800 MHz Rebanding, John lead a nationwide team in the negotiation of over 1,500 rebanding agreements totaling in excess of $1 Billion in this ground breaking public-private spectrum relocation project between the FCC and Sprint. This unique project involved a diverse group from the FCC, the Transition Administrator, Public Safety, 800 MHz Licensees, Industry Trade Associations, Equipment Vendors, Licensees’ Attorneys and Consulting Engineers with the various groups having competing priorities and strong personalities. The management and/or coordination of these various groups all while furthering the interests and goals of the project proved to be an exciting challenge.
After virtually every 800 MHz Frequency Reconfiguration Agreement had been negotiated and many of the markets had completed rebanding, John retired from Sprint in January 2015 to take some time off but has stayed active and involved in the wireless industry and is always looking for the next exciting opportunity.
John received his Mechanical Engineering and MBA degrees from the University of Colorado.
