Randy began his career in PS communications as a teenager working for his father’s Motorola service shop who served local PS agencies. Shortly after receiving his BSEE degree from the University of Washington, Randy went to work for Zetron, and was founder of their Public Safety division. Subsequently Randy became a licensed Professional Engineer.
In his role of Engineering Manager, Randy oversaw the specification and architectural design of the first and second generation of Zetron’s radio dispatch and 9-1-1 call taking products before becoming a Product Manager, and Zetron’s representative to US Standards committees.
Randy has been Co-Chair of NENA’s PSAP Equipment Standards Committee and a former NENA ENP. Randy is currently Vice-Chair of TIA’s TR8 APCO Project 25 Interface Committee, Chair of TIA’s TR8 Fixed Station Interface Task Group and Co-Chair of the NPSTC LTE Console Requirements Working Group.
