Safe-Com's DASS(tm) is a patent-pending fiber optic in-building Distributed Antenna System with a new architecture, up to 5 bands in one unit, lowest power consumption and integrated tracking and detection Sensors - making it the most innovative product of the year.
An advanced architecture is implemented in the DASS(tm) SAFE-1000 series that permits new levels of fidelity in the transmission and re-amplification of mission critical life safety radio communcations in-building. The challenge in implementing public safety radio systems with their varied mix of frequencies and demanding reliability requirements is well known. SAFE-COMs new topology provides for low cost configuration and implementation of public-safety DAS never before seen. In addition ot the radio distribution enhancements , a suite of integrated Sensors that give the first respopnder full situational awareness are incorpoarted in teh SAFE-1000 series. All these together make for the most innovative DAS product of the year - SAFE-1000 series from Safe-Com Wireless. DAS for a new generation
The SAFE-COM DASS(tm) features 5 bands, 1 watt per band in a compact NEMA enclosure - 12 x 10 x 6 inches. This is the smallest NEMA enclosure for a fiber DAS on the market saving space and easing your installation. NFPA compliance is built in as is a remotely accessible Network Management System. The design is extremely power efficient with a 24 hour battery backup fitting into a 0.5sq ft enclosure. The system is based on plug-in cards, each card processing a single RF channel. This introduces a new level of configuration flexibility. Need to add one VHF channel? Just plug in a VHF card next to your UHF, 7,8 or 900 MHz cards. Its that simple and easy - and low cost.
The card system also provides a new enhancement: N to 1 redundancy. A single card can stand by to back up all the other cards in its operating band. For too long redundancy the old way required a whole other second repeater or DAS unit to be purchased and installed - a great time and money waste. Not any more. The SAFE-1000 series offers low cost and reliable redundancy for your life-safety system.
Safe-Com heard the industries first responders ask for the availability of more infomation as they ran into buildings that everyone else was running out of. They need full situational awareness. Enter the SAFE-1000 series DASS - Distributed Anetnna and Sensor System. Safe-Com has built the new DAS from the ground up incorpoartimg distributed sensors on the same infrastructure the radio channel operate. Sensor modules attached to the coax or fiber and provide the information our first responder are seeking. The sensor suite includes fire, smoke, heat, checmial and radiation and first responder tracking sensors. This allows the integrator to bring moe value the DAS customer and his bottom line. To highlight one of the sensors - the tracking sensor system uses bluetooth beacons carried on the person of the first responder as she enters the building. The commander plugs into the head-end server (hardwire or secure wirelss connection) and downloads the floor by floor map of the facility. Instantly, icons identifyng all the first responders withiin the facility are shown overlaid on the map. In addition the myriad of other sensors display their information on the same map showng where the hot spots and danger zones exist. Fire, smoke, heat, oxygen depletion, chemical, biological and nuclear threats are graphically displayed on the commanders map. Finally - the full situational awareness first responders have asked for is available in the SAFE-1000 series DASS(tm) from SAFE-COM Wireless.
