Land Mobile 101
Session # M101
Date/Venue Monday, 03/16/2009 8:00AM -12:00PM
Description Description:

The outsourcing of telecommunications work by many municipalities has created new responsibilities for IT personnel. Many IT personnel, now saddled with ensuring that their radio systems are properly licensed and remain operational, are in need of basic RF training. They may understand bits, bytes and bauds but they have no idea about how the laws of physics relate to the design and operation of radio systems or wireless data networks. Now that they oversee many aspects of telecommunications including radio systems they should have a basic comprehension of radio as it relates to their responsibilities. In this workshop, learn essential FCC Rules and Regulations, the basics of radio propagation, review the design and operation of radio networks and gain a basic understanding of the implementation and operation of wireless networks.
