Description:
Receive basic training on how to use test tools in the field to analyze wireless systems for public safety, LMR, and cellular applications. Fundamental terms such as VSWR, return loss, dB, dBm, watts, forward and reflected power are defined, and cable Loss Masking Effect and Directivity topics are explained. Test setup procedures are also demonstrated. In addition, explore a comparison of radio coverage testing techniques including DAQ, RSSI and BER. Lastly, review test instrument limitations (instrumentation calibration - open/short/load vector calibration), review common mistakes in setting up test equipment parameters (DTF resolution and its limitation when analyzing complex systems) and explore a better interpretation of data measured from test equipment (Interpretation of complex components in antenna cabling systems).
