Leveraging and Optimizing the White Space Opportunity
Session # F04
Date/Venue Friday, 03/12/2010 10:00AM -11:00AM
Description Description:

With the DTV transition from analog completed on June 12, there is now a large swath of unused and available TV spectrum (white space). The FCC approved the unlicensed use of white space spectrum for wireless applications, making this spectrum a very hot commodity. Wireless Internet Service Providers, telcos, government agencies, enterprises, as well as other businesses, can use the white space for their new wireless products and services, including for broadband services. However, there are still challenges that businesses face when using this unlicensed spectrum.  Examine the rules and requirements for using white space, discover how to identify available channels in your area, and learn how to manage and optimize throughput, reliability and capacity for this spectrum. Additionally, explore what types of devices, applications and services can operate under white space spectrum.
