Health and Safety Measures at IWCE

Guided by Informa AllSecure – a detailed set of measures developed collaboratively with industry associations, event organizers and venues, IWCE aims to deliver the highest levels of hygiene and safety at its events, providing everyone with reassurance and confidence they are participating in a safe and controlled environment.  Read below for complete details on safety requirements needed to enter the event, along with safety and hygiene measures guests can expect at the event...

The event will be organized in accordance with Informa AllSecure health and safety standard. IWCE Expo will feature fixed hand sanitization units throughout the facility, wider aisles within the expo hall, contactless registration, enhanced cleaning, and more.

Cleaning and Hygiene

The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) was awarded the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR facility accreditation by ISSA, the world’s leading trade association for the cleaning industry. Considered the gold standard for safe facilities, the GBAC program was designed to control the risks associated with infectious agents, including the virus responsible for COVID-19. Under Informa AllSecure standards, IWCE will facilitate cleaning and hygiene through the following processes:

Enhanced Cleaning

There will be enhanced sanitization throughout the course of the event, with a focus on ‘high-touch areas’, such as door handles, restrooms and food and beverage areas. Alcohol wipes will be distributed to exhibitors prior to show open to disinfect booth surfaces throughout the day.

Personal Hygiene

IWCE Expo will provide sanitizer stations throughout the show floor and encourage all participants to regularly wash and disinfect their hands.

Increased Air Circulation

The Las Vegas Convention Center’s HVAC systems have been converted to MERV-13 filters and maximize outside (fresh) air up to 100% as environmental conditions permit. The LVCC’s HVAC system will remain running 24-hours a day throughout the course of the event.

Physical Distancing

Under Informa AllSecure standards, World of Concerete will facilitate physical distancing through the following processes:

Non-Contact Registration

Through increased use of technology, IWCE aims to minimize lines and entry transactions. IWCE will employ a system that facilitates non-contact registration for participants, including the availability of online registration.

Physical Contact

IWCE will promote alternative ways to greet business partners.

Physical Distancing

IWCE will maintain a density of participants in line with local authority regulations and venue guidance. Lounges, table rounds, seating areas will be arranged to ensure physical distancing. Elevators and restrooms will have capacity controls. Designated entrance and exit doors throughout.

Protect and Detect

Under Informa AllSecure standards, IWCE will facilitate required health protocols and assistance through the following processes:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

All guests will be required to wear a face mask upon entry to Las Vegas Convention Center. Masks must be always worn except when eating or drinking. Masks will be available on-site if a guest does not have their own.

First Aid

IWCE will have access to a qualified first aid responder for any immediate medical needs or medically related questions.

IWCE will follow relevant health authority guidance on screening participants.

Contacting Tracing

Should it be necessary, IWCE will work with local authorities to trace and contact participants at our events.

CDC Best Practices

We encourage all attendees and exhibitors to follow these CDC best practices for everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of illness:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Stay in your hotel or at home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Q. What will capacity look like for the in-person event?
A. Capacity is currently capped at a maximum of 50% of a given space’s fire code capacity. Limits will be reviewed and revised according to county and LVCC regulations.

Q. Will IWCE limit attendance?
A. It is possible that IWCE will be required to limit attendance to ensure proper distancing is maintained and locally mandated capacity limits are adhered to. It is recommended you secure your registration now if you know you’d like to attend in person.

Q. What health measures are IWCE taking to ensure a safe environment on-site?
A. IWCE is working closely with local health authorities and the LVCC to provide a safe and healthy experience for all IWCE participants. Mask wearing, social distancing, contactless features, enhanced venue sanitization and capacity limits are a few of the measures we’re employing.

Q. What type of face mask is required?
A. All guests will be required to wear a face mask upon entry to Las Vegas Convention Center. Masks will be available on-site if a guest does not have their own. The CDC recommends wearing masks with two or more layers of washable, breathable fabric, that completely cover your nose and mouth, fit snugly against the sides of your face and don't have gaps, have a nose wire to prevent air from leaking out of the top of the mask. Gaiters and face shields will not be acceptable forms of face masks at the IWCE.

Q. Will food be served and what will that look like?
A. Food service will be available. We are partnering with LVCC to provide a wide-ranging menu that meets the needs of our participants. Food service may look a little different this year, to adhere to safety measures.
