ProfileLaurie Flaherty is a program analyst in the Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Her work focuses on issues related to the application of technology in 911 servicess. For the past 14 years, Flaherty has served as the Ccordinator of the National 911 Program which is housed within NHTSA's Office of EMS. Flaherty’s background includes more than 20 years of clinical experience as an emergency room nurse. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Marquette University, and her master's degree in emergency and trauma nursing from the University of California, San Francisco.
