Michelle C. Johnson is director of LTE Advocacy and Business Development for Harris Corporation's Communication Systems Business Segment. She is responsible for the establishment and implementation of advocacy strategies and development of new business opportunities for the public safety and professional communications business. Previously, Michelle successfully led the Long Term Evolution (4G LTE) Center of Excellence product organization at Harris providing communication solutions to worldwide public safety, professional communications, and tactical military customers.
Michelle joined Harris Corporation in 2015 after being with Motorola Solutions where she held senior level positions since joining the company in 1995. She most recently was director of public safety 4G LTE product management, with responsibility for the company's global government and public safety broadband business. Before joining Harris, Michelle spent her career in the development engineering and product management of telecommunications systems and solutions for commercial and public safety customers. She has received several awards for her service in this industry including being recognized as one of the "Top 25 Women of Chicago," Workforce Partner of the Year and Product Manager of the Year for Outstanding Achievement. In 2016, she received the prestigious award as the BEYA Modern Day Technology Leader. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University and a Master's Certification in Project Management from George Washington University as well as several leadership certifications.
