Jay has been in the Information Technology field for over 30 years, helping customers improve their operations with the help of technology. With background as a computer technician, communications analyst, systems administrator, and operations and project manager, Jay continues to enjoy successful partnerships and accomplishments as a Manager working with Public Safety officials to implement new technology to help improve their performance and keep them safe.
Jay is currently the Public Safety Systems Manager for Pinal County, Arizona, primarily responsible for all radio/wireless communications services, and public safety applications including record management and mobile app services. Jay oversaw the successful build out of a new county-wide P25 Phase2 trunked radio system for the Sheriff’s Office. He recently assisted in the development of a regional governance model that helped formally engage the Sheriff Office with other neighboring agencies in hopes of working together to identify communication priorities that would improve regional operations.
Jay is a member of APCO and a workgroup member of the Arizona Public Safety Broadband Network ‘AZPSBN’. He supports FEMA/EOC operations as the County’s Communications Unit Leader ‘COML’ and works with other federal, state, tribal and local agencies, and amateur radio groups, to help plan and implement interoperability solutions in support of Public Safety.
