Langhelm is currently a Program Manager with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science & Technology Directorate. He oversees first responder information sharing, mutual aid, geospatial solutions development, and other projects.
Mr. Langhelm is a leader in the information and data interoperability domain. His leadership there is informed by his on-the-ground response experience with FEMA.
Formerly, Mr. Langhelm supported regional geospatial activities with FEMA Region 10 and led geospatial-based disaster response operations on a multitude of events including the 2005 Hurricane Katrina operations in Louisiana, the 2003 STS-107 Space Shuttle recovery operation in Texas, the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the 2001 World Trade Center (WTC) Collapse in New York City, NY, and the 2001 Nisqually Earthquake in Washington State.
